How I Like To Think of Heaven
I learned about God’s plan for us when I was in my youth. But with time’s passing, I would hear of other people’s truth. I’ve felt confused by all the many different schools of thought. Some religions say one thing, and some religions not! Some talk about Nirvana or enlightenment. Others speak of paradise up in the firmament. A person cannot help but think of heaven in the way that he was raised to think of it! Beliefs are hard to sway! Some people don’t accept the fact there is a God at all, and trying to convince them is like talking to a wall. I simply can’t accept that we are here at nature’s whim. This hopeless way of thinking to me seems rather grim. But where we go and what becomes of us when we are dead nobody can truly know. We picture it instead. In heaven will the angels play on harps and sing in choirs? If not, I’d say that I’ve been listening to some big liars! They say we’ll meet our loved ones who before us passed away. Who wouldn’t wish for that, and with our loved ones always stay? Perhaps there will be pizza there and even movies too, with everyone still having their own talents to pursue. I like to think of Heaven in that way, but I can’t know. Enlightenment will have to be a big part of it though! There can’t be greed or other awful things we’ve plenty of on earth! So heaven has to be a place of peace and love. Sept. 6, 2018 for the "Describe Heaven" Poetry Contest of Faraz Ajmal
