Mean Mr Preecher
Off be-ith me ~ was running ~ bit late School doors re-open ~ quarter to eight Twas late for my class ~ a niche in lost time A detour ~ for a gum pack ~ that cost but a dime Pledge of allegiance ~ had started already So I stood at the door ~ dropping gum wrapper ~ confetti When the pledge was over ~ I had got in deep trouble As it be-ith told ~ I've blown out a bubble To the principles office ~ I was sent ~by my teacher To the head of the school ~ mean Mr. Preecher He taught me a lesson ~ forget ~ I will not For what he had done ~ I've just never forgot When he heard of my gum chew ~ he punished me good As students passed me by ~ in the hall where I stood They laughed at me silly ~ funny ~ I suppose When they saw I had gum ~ that be stuck ~ to my nose Remember Poetry Contest Sponsored by Shadow Hamilton 9/1/2018
