The Scary Dog
When we first met this dog I was afraid of her because she was afraid of me. I had never had that before, most dogs are my soul dogs. This dog was shaking so hard I thought she might fall over. And she was skinny. A starving dog. I was afraid because this dog was like no dog I had ever met. My husband almost immediately handed over money for this thirteen pound ugly dog. She has been ruling us for six years now. She weighs twenty-one and a half pounds. Her stomach feels like she ate a weighted blanket. If you do not understand this, lift one sometime. Her haircuts cost more than my haircuts. I am pouring four ear drops in her ears twice a day. And she is being fooled into a pill which I have To mash up and hide in a ball of peanut butter Covered with a big long slice of roast beef, folded Into a tent-like sandwich. She is lying next to me as I type, Hoping I will drop a cookie or A chocolate bar. She is not Supposed to eat them, but She does. I can hear her Deep bubbly sleep. My baby.
