Broken
BROKEN WHOLE I watched her walk down the isle Fragile figure, weakened by the weekends she spend Kissing different frogs till her lips are pale and dry The colored lipsticks are almost peeling off like the paints on an old building The collared padre asking her if she does reminds her of the pains That she is so much trying to hide The tears that she is so much trying to fight The love that she is so much trying to find All wrapped up in one broken groom She has swept all corners of the nation like a borrowed broom She has been hired and fired, used and abused, amused and reduced To nothing All she wanted was tall, dark and handsome money But all she needed was a good man What she wanted clouded the judgment of what she needed That’s why there is no wise advice that she heeded Right now all those regrets are deeply rooted and hidden Killing her slowly and silently without arms The padre asked again She looked up into the eyes of a perfect stranger and saw love Felt guilt and said…I don’t Silence swept the auditorium like an evil spirit Questions Too many questions ran through the minds of the congregation Nobody spoke, not a word was uttered But there was a buzz of conversations running through the minds of those present as they looked at each other The unspoken hate Needed no support with the spoken words You could see from their faces The air was so tense like a ticking time bomb that was threatening to go off at a slightest provocation If only to serve as a consolation she continued…I don’t deserve you You have shown me love that no one ever deed But as much as that’s all I ever needed I am too broken for you, I…sshhhhh He said, say not another word, you will be breaking my heart for nothing Nobody is perfect, but I see perfect in your imperfections Just hold my hand and I will do the rest You have been through a lot I know and that’s why you need to rest Let me be your home, let me protect you from the storm Going down on a knee, he posed the million dollar question And drove the point home
