Just a Normal Day
I woke in bed to find you'd fled, were now on sofa nesting, My sleep though fair, so joined you there, with legs on my lap resting, I held you soft, warmed by the loft of blankets where you huddled, One hand held feet, one found breast treat, and dawn came as we cuddled. A simple life, one man in love, new dreams rhyme with breath's intake, A poetry, an artistry, without a scent of heartache, Heigh ho! Heigh ho! Through life we go, our ways at times diverging, At Kimmy's Bliss (1), more happiness, see head and verse converging. Brian Johnston 21st of August 2018 Poet's Notes: (1) Kimmy's Bliss is the name of my wife Kimmy's hair salon. I have a small desk and computer there also where I frequently write new poetry. Indeed, I pursue her always as I lust for art!
