Leaving
She woke up in the middle of the night, Husband out running around, no one there to hold her tight. She looked at his pillow and spoke softly to where he was suppose to lay, She said the one you used to love is leaving you today. She said my fire still burns bright, night after lonely night, But you’re never there to see it, and what you are doing to me you know that, that’s not right. When I took your name I guess I expected something great, But pain, hurt, and sorrow is all you’ve shown to be my future to be my fate. So as I make this bed for the last time, I give it all back to you, I still love you but I guess what I’m trying to say is I think we’re really through. I won’t be an anchor or ever again stand in your way, I’ll return to you your freedom, and take mine and be on my way.
