Flashback To My Youth
I was hanging on the corner I was looking so cool Just smiling from ear to ear And acting like a fool. Had my boom box on my shoulder With music blaring loud With my cell phone in my pocket And I'm eying the crowd. All the youths just started laughing I was a sight to see And they asked what I was doing Hanging out there so free. With my doorag in my pocket And pants leg half way up And my short shirt showing navel As on my hip pants dropped. With my hair of many colors And make-up on real thick So many beads around my neck And flaming red lip-stick. I knew what they were thinking as They watched this old Granny She must have lost her marbles Or she's back in the sixties. Well since this is a free country I'm as young as I feel And today I feel like twenty So I'm keeping it real. Then they backed up off my corner And left me on my shelf So now all the fun is over I'm back to my old self.
