The Rain
Rain’s falling down and just darkens the ground. This place seems familiar but I am not sure. I see him in front of me blocking my way. I try to push past him but he breaks me down. His words are like daggers that tear me apart. His fists are like bullets that that can’t be stopped. When I’m falling to the ground what do I see. My determination is crashing down with me. I try to get up but then I see that my chance to reach my goals has disappeared. Is there a point to keep fighting? If I just keep being beaten black and blue. Is there really a point? He says we have met before, but I can’t see him. I remember his words but I do not know where. He asks me how it feels to be a lie, a fake, and a worthless life. I try to get up but all I see is his giant hands are crashing onto me. Is there a point to get up? If I just keep falling. Is there really a point? If I keep being reduced to nothing? I beg and I plead to please let me leave but he refuses. Then I look up to his eyes and then I see that the one I have been fighting is truly me. Rain’s falling down and what do I see, I see my own greatest demon staring back at me. I put down my hands and embrace him and cry. Cause he is my inner demon living in my mind. I realize this is not a fight I can win. But I can be victorious with help from my friend. He has been here with me extending his hand. I can help you now that you understand. Your strength alone will not conquer this. But I will take over if you give me your hand; and your dreams will be realized with my footprints in the sand.
