Though we have an obvious language barrier, you always make a way to understand me, as well as to show me how to comprehend you, through your sensitive and sensible dealings moved with care and love, along with prudence. How blessed am I to have you and your family adopting me, making me a part of your home. So delighted was I the first time I heard you calling me “Aleli” with joyful affection asserting that such is my name with my special identity as a canine "Aspin"*. Aside from providing for my needs, including my wants, like my pretty accessories and toys of all sorts You even pray for me, and let me witness your Bible studies and fellowships, I proudly guard. Well, I hope to organize such with fellow dogs… as long as your discernment favors it. What more can I ask? Please be patient with me and my quirks. Again, thanks so much; and yes, I just learned that you did your best to give my sibling a decent burial after you found him abandoned. I rejoice with you in today’s tribute for you and your family. May you continually “regard the life of your beast”** by God’s grace. Amen! *Aspin in our country is short for “Asong Pinoy” which means Filipino dog. **Proverbs 12:10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast... poetrysoup@poetrysoup.com Tue, Mar 25, 2025; 10:51?AM Dear Beata, Congratulations, this is just a quick notice to let you know that your poem I Am a Blessed Dog is a PoetrySoup Premiere Contest winner for contest: This Is What I Call A Loyal Love .
