Through My Poetry
my final words would have to be, "I lived twice through my poetry". for I’ve written much in way of light, brought eyes to those who have no sight. to my husband who loves my words, may your soul too always be heard. you’ve loved me dearly with respect, gave me a life I could never expect. to my daughter who is my whole world, read my poems about you, my little girl, and you shall read how I love you so, for you, my Rose, I shall never let go. I’ve carried sorrow and some regret, but all the love I shan’t forget. for I am grateful for this life I led, and wrote what I wish I could’ve said. I shall leave this world with dignity, because I lived twice through my poetry. for I have written much in way of creed, I pray you see my heart as this you read. July 29, 2018
