The Haunted House
The big old wooden door creaks loudly as I tentatively push it ajar, my eyes strain to see inside but the darkness commands and I don't see far. I hear tiny feet scurrying quickly across the entrance halls floor, I glimpse something moving out of the corner of my eye as I strain to see some more. With another nervous, cautious step, deeper into the darkness I tread. As I do so, an icy cold gust of air howls straight through me and horrifying visions fill my head. With legs as heavy as wood and a cold sweat upon my brow, I put one foot in front of the other reaching out, I feel the bannister, I've made it to the staircase, somehow. As I make my way up the stairs with each step a wooden, creaking groan. With nothing but the spiders landing in my hair as I brush past the thick cobwebs, I feel terribly alone. Now stood on the landing and the dawns early light seeps through a window pane, I see a long corridor before me and I feel a blessed relief to be able to see again. Then I hear a noise, one I've heard before, a sad, high pitched whimpering. My footsteps suddenly quicken as the sound leads me to a door. With the sound ever increasing, as I walk through the door, I am leapt on by a hairy beast, with its heavy breathing and saliva dripping, it promptly pins me to the floor. After the beast finishes his ritual of nearly licking me to death , I grab the beast and squeeze him tight, relieved the search is over for my best pal, with his smelly dog breath. 13/8/18 Sponsor - Dear Heart
