Pappy's Moonshine Still
Verse-1 Yesterday I was thinkin' bout my childhood days Wondering how we got where we are today The world has gotten crazy, ain't like it used to be Family used to mean something, back in 63 Now everybody lives their life, fighting one another Seems the whole damn world, is brother against brother Verse-2 I used to drive my daddy's truck, down a dusty road Used to walk across the yard, to use the damn commode Grandma used to bake them cookies, that made us all get fat They used to call us country boys, but Mama called us brats My Pappy had a moonshine still, in the woods way out back I used to take my sweetheart there, man she had a rack Chorus Yeah my pappy had a moonshine still, up there in the woods Me and my brother used to steal some, every chance we could We used hunt for food, way back there in the woods Sometimes we'd take are sweetie there, to learn everything we could Today you can't even find the woods, it's all went to hell Oh boy do I miss those days, and pappy's moonshine still Verse-3 My High school days were somethin', my baby by my side Going to the drive in show, doin' things that made us hide My sweetheart used to teach me things, you'd never learn in school Today that's all different now, You can learn it at the pool Sometimes I wish it was possible, to go back and start out new Sneakin' off out in the woods, drinkin' pappy's mountain dew
