The Weeping Willow
The Weeping willow weeps silently! Ever wonder why the weeping willow weeps? It’s a tragic story of a beautiful and magnificent tree. Apart from it’s appearance the weeping willow is rotting away on the inside. The scars on the inside and what you see on the outside are completely different. Years of growth hide, the sad, pitiful inside that was once an innocent seedling. Time and growth didn’t help but allowed the inside to become a horrible scar, turning the tree into a weeping willow! The story of this tree, goes back centuries. A tale of times when things were magical, and love was in the air. Princes and Princess’s would visit this beautiful tree announcing and declaring their love. The willow was a part of every marriage. All good and happy things came about beneath these great tree’s. It was called, the “Willow of Love!” Then a most beautiful couple sharing a special love came to the tree known as the willow of love. The prince proclaimed; he would not share this tree; he wanted the willow for himself! The princess; sad and afraid of loosing him unfortunately let him keep the tree. No more love came to the tree. The willow was now alone and without love. The Prince thought only of this tree, that it was his, and was his greatest treasure. The Princess distraught at times, would visit the tree and cry often so that all the willow knew was tears of pain. The willow began to droop and softly sway in the breeze. It was changed from the vibrant willow of love to the tragic, heart breaking; weeping willow! Debbie Knapp – 5/25/2018 – Friday!
