My Best Penny
My best penny is the one that started my first dollar. When I found it on the ground I gave a little holler. You might think a penny isn’t worth a little shout, but I’m here to tell you it is worth writing about. I put it in a piggy bank and after all my crowing, I added to it when I could and quickly it was growing. On Mondays I would count the pennies gathered in my jar, and pretty soon my pennies started stretching pretty far. Then one day I counted, I will never forget when, the pennies I collected made up dollars counting ten. It was fun to see my pennies grow to such a height, so I started saving every penny in my sight. I picked them up on sidewalks when I found them, every time, and sometimes I would even find a nickel or a dime. In a while my piggy bank was bursting at the seams, I took it to a bank and started saving for my dreams. With dedicated effort and conservative respect, I saved myself a fortune and on this I now reflect: It started with a penny that someone had left behind, I wonder if it’s hidden worth has ever crossed their mind? I wonder also if this story makes some sense to you, and next time that you find a penny wonder what you’ll do.
