I write and like then, I understand myself now. I have a photograph of her in my bed and she waits for me under my cover. other nights and other nights after she left, shoes in my closet and clothes on the wooden bar, ten years lead us to the night. her jacket she left behind is our night and the love she left with is our view into the key hole. these walls remind me she isn’t here. today the sun came up and it was blue and gold. just sit down with this old clown, I’ll take that frown and break it. before our evening went away, I knew that we could make it.
