I'Ve Kept Your Memory Close
When memories glow like luminous fireflies and days become another red thread on the horizon I will remember when love was you and I, the soft light that brought comfort to darkness you are the memory inlaid, until death you are the scattered drops that endlessly float in the silent mist of loneliness you are the haunting face, drifting in empty nights you are the eyes in my dreams that rise like two moons in the gray abyss of illusion causing me to wake with cold sweats restless and shaken Yes, I've kept your memory close you were a flaming star crossing the night sky etching a trail, burned into the eyes you were the warm light that vanished in the cold darkness leaving only wishes and a sense of awe that came from shared moments of perfection... 6/1/18
