My First Flight
I remember as a boy flying high in the sky all of the wonders that greeted my eye clouds that stretched from the end of the world a wondrous playground before me unfurled towering columns of white puffy places unique and unending with strange funny faces the sun would shine through with great beams of light they faded away and then came the night the moon cast a hue of eerie blue glow I imagined the world was covered with snow long lurking shadows and places to hide my mind wandered out 0n a make-believe ride I soared through the clouds arms floating aloft I dreamed of how landing would feel so soft I played hide and seek with friends that weren’t there and felt a cool wind flow through my long hair I tumbled and dove and rode out the night but fell fast asleep before ending the flight my mom woke me up I was in a daze my dream in the clouds was now just a haze I think of that day each time that I fly as I look out the window and search through the sky I think of my memory that same silly dream as I run through the clouds to catch a sunbeam.
