It spun so fast it nearly broke, The day I saw you as not just another bloke. It nearly stopped altogether, As you slipped the ring on my finger to tether us forever. It turned on its axis in the blink of an eye, When you whispered "I love you" on a sigh. It froze solid when I thought I had lost you, And I cursed myself for being such a fool. It spun out of control the first time we made love, And we brought tears to the eyes of the doves. It went haywire and plummeted and fell, When it saw its angels on a path to hell. It seems it will never cease its wondrous tricks as long as we live, All we have to do is hang on...give all we have to give.
