Still Here
After I lost everything and everyone I wanted to do nothing but run. All in this world that I held dear, was gone, I lived in constant fear. Fear that I would, fear that I won't wondering whether I do or I don't. I can't put the pieces together as they were. I have to rearrange them, but not quite sure. Was there anything that I should keep? Or throw it all out into a very large heap? I am now living a life, that bears no resemblance to, the life I had before, that life is through. My present life is simple, I try to be true, to what's left of my heart and what it tells me to do. The burden that I carried, all the trappings of that life, were burying me under inescapable strife. I do miss the special moments of my past, I hope to hang on to those, to make them last. I started to write during the past couple of years. And one of my own poems can bring the tears. I am not sure how it came to me, but this gift has helped me to feel free. My poems have been pulled from deep inside, not sure whether to show or hide. And if one of them can help someone feel, that they are not alone, like me they can heal. Then I may say it was worth all of the pain. For I am still here, living again.
