Lilac Hours
Lilac Hours In the gallivanting shadows of old days romance, a time when courting had a real finesse, marriages were made in movements of a dance to which the ladies would so kindly acquiesce. July evenings bought a quiet moonlit rendezvous with a caller usually dressed as soldiers might. Radios were playing melodies in midnight blue as they shared love’s ecstasy of sheer delight. How nonchalant the heart is when it's safely kept through years without precarious events. But now bent knees and memories are all that’s left, and lilac hours when life was innocent. The simplicity of old time ways we often seek, a courtship that leads straight to wedded bliss. This easy evolution makes it quite unique. Gone is the lilac world and fear so strong exists. 5/12/18
