Harvest
Death is unavoidable, We all know it’s coming. But...it still hurts when you know, One you love isn’t coming back. The harvest always comes, And whisks away those it chooses. Without mercy it kills, And crimson blood covers the ground. But did it have to be you, Swept up by the tempest of death? You left, and now I’m alone, In a state of infinite solitude. Well, I wish you a peaceful afterlife. I hope God has showered you with his grace. I hope to see you there When my time has come to an end. I sit at the shore. My eyes grow misty, my vision blurring, And try to hold back tears, Because part of me knew this was coming. I let the water have you, It’s current taking you away, And leave you there, Never to look back. Grief flows through me, The shadow cast over me not enough To hide my pain and sorrow. But then I realize... Life goes on, I’m not dead. And, one day I’ll see them again, Once it’s my time to enter the gates to heaven. So I get up, all my pain forgotten, Lost in the wind, leaving me forever, Gone with yesterday, Not to bother me again...
