He heard that day that a Visitor was in town, And in His presence he wanted to be found. He knew that because of his stature he would be lost In the midst of that curious and excited host. He knew the urgency of making a plan, So that he would be able to see this Man. There, on the path, stood a sycamore tree, So up to the top he did hurriedly flee. More confident was he, now above the throng, He could wait for this Visitor to come along. His wait soon ended and to his surprise, The Visitor called his name and looked him in the eyes. He told him to with haste come down, For they were now to his home bound. He marveled to himself as they onward went That this day was one not poorly spent. From that day forward, he would never be the same, Zacchaeus is by most, a well-known name.
