Where the Wind Shall Lead Me
I am set to surrender and give in once again to the restlessness that is pushing from within and telling me to leave behind the people I love to sail thousand miles to where black gold flows. Now I stand by the door with bags in my hands to board my lonely ship, cross the wide ocean. So sorry to leave but undaunted just the same, I will soon be on my way, I’d soon be far away. Oh, I may sometimes stop to catch my breath when this tired, old heart says it’s had enough. But I know I would be up and moving again, going where the wind shall lead me. For how could I hold this force beating deep inside, how do I stop myself from chasing its crazy dreams, how could I not tread on the road leading out yonder, when the drum starts to beat, won’t I answer its call? Well, here I am in this cruel and barren desert stretching my luck and braving the killing heat. I don’t know when this wandering finally ends but who cares! isn’t this what life is all about?
