Future Within Children's Eyes
You played the roll of mom and dad Made sure what the kids needed they always had Sacrifices were endless Selfless love tremendous Exhausting keeping up between kids, school and two jobs Tiny fingers dried your tears and melted your heart when you'd break down and sob They quickly remind you, why you do all you do Placing everything into perspective with the sweetest"I love you" Their smiles make your heart once again sing Pure happiness their hugs and eskimo kisses always bring Kids pitch in and help you clean They get real defensive when they think to you someone is being mean For on this tiresome journey you've never traveled alone Little eyes have been watching and appreciate the unconditional love you've shown You didn't throw in the towel and quit Even upon leaving the nest you'll forever remain close knit Some say you sqaundered your potential and gave your future away In all of your years you never contrued it this way Your whole future you saw within your children's eyes For upon branching out, you knew the whole world was in for quite a surprise
