The Useless Labour

Mrs Mary was one of those pretty and charming girls born in a middle class family. She had no higher expectations and didn't want to wed by a man of wealth and distinction and she let herself be married off to a small business man. Her tastes were simple because she was not interested to waste her money without any vital reason.

She had some friends who were so richer than her that's why she hardly visited to their houses. Once one of her friends Mrs Tina invited her to a birthday party. She was not interested to attend that party. But her husband told her, " "You should attend that party." I have no nice dress or ornaments. "How can I go their wearing such a poor clothes." she said with a sad mood.

After listening that Rayhan was heart broken.

" Look here, Mary," he said. "How much you have to pay for a suitable dress, which you could use on other occasions as well, something very simple?"

At last she replied with some hesitation:

I don't know exactly, I could manage that for TK 25,000.

"Tk 25,000!" Rayhan said with surprise. " I have a good suggestion for you. You can buy some beautiful flowers for you. You can use those on your head."

"Are you kidding with me?" Mary screamed.
"What will others think about me?"

"I have a one more plan". said Rayhan. "You can borrow some ornaments from your elder sister. After party you can give them her back."

"That's not a bad idea." said Mary. "Okay I will ask my sister for that."

The following day she went to her elder sister for some ornaments. Her sister told her, "Choose whatever you want"

Mary chose just a pair of ear rings. They were gorgeous and delicate in design.

She went to attend that party wearing those ear rings. She enjoyed that party nicely. When she reached at home her husband noticed that her one ear ring was missing. Mary couldn't realise when and how it was lost?

Instantly she went to her friend house if she could find out that missing ear ring. She searched everywhere as she could. From heaven to earth. From house to streets. Unfortunately , she couldn't get a trace of missing ear ring.

She was heart broken. "How she could tell that to her sister. How she would take that matter?" She thought herself.

While she was washing her clothes with her hands, something pinched on her fingers. She was bleeding that time. Suddenly she invented that it was nothing but her missing ear ring. She got her soul back in her body. She was excited. "How nonsense fellow I was!"She said. "I never tired to have a look on my own clothes." She gave a sweet smile.
