The Bear And The Lion

A family of bears is having a feast on a brook. A young female bear was left behind by her family and got her right foot stuck between the stones. The young bear cried and was heard by a stray young lion looking for food. It was raining that day. The young lion rushed to the squealing voice. Startled, the young bear was frightened by the approaching lion. The rain didn't stop and so the waters in the brook started to rise. The lion was watching the young bear, almost drowning herself as waters begin to surge. The young lion called for help and a pride of bigger lions appeared, saving the drowning bear. The young bear walked away after being saved. One day, the young lion was caught in a trap in the forest, not too far from the brook where he used to look for food. The young lion is bruised inside the booby trap. The lion was there for two days, regretting his naughtiness in the forest. On the third day, the family of bears went back to the said brook where they used to catch fish. The young bear saw a flock of low-flying birds and followed them. The bear was surprised seeing the young lion again... this time, inside a deep hole on the soiled ground. She recalled what the young lion did for her sometime ago and so she called her whole family of bears to help the lion free himself. After getting out of the hole, the bruised young lion walked away. Few weeks later, the young bear and the young lion met again. The young bear was standing still, surrounded by hungry big lions. The young lion rushed to the young bear and stood in front of her facing the hungry pride, roaring. Instantly, the big lions were silenced and walked away. The young bear was amazed by the young lion's courage for saving her life. From that day on, they became friends -- friends of two different worlds.
