Salvation

‘Salvation’, what did it mean as Patrice sat on her bed staring at the ceiling. She had heard this word many times before but it never meant anything, until now with a sigh she held her breath and lifted her voice whispering, ‘Jehovah Rapha the Lord who heals, ‘don’t take the light from me, hide not your eyes, calm the storm and send forth grace to carry me. She repeated as tears rolled down her face flooding her pillowcase. Chocked for words blinded by love and holding the cross of shame she curled into a ball and rolled around in great pain.

Father she called, save me from disgrace take my family feet and lead us to the land where we can stand. ‘Yah ‘as I call you by your name breathe deep within me and in my sadness let me know you are here wash me in your blood, embrace me, give me the words to praise your holy name let not my heart faint nor my mind go insane.

She rose from the floor and began to praise, there was some comfort in calling out his name it felt as though heaven had open its gates. Sovereign Lord, she proclaimed heaven has heard about my name in agony you have answered to my dishonour. Father, I am yours and you are mines, take my hurt and let not my tears be in vain ‘Yahshua’, how powerful is your name.

Still feeling the weight of Stephan’s actions, she tried interacting more with her friends but that thrill and joy only lasted but awhile. She even attempted dating but that just made things even more complicated.

After months of lengthy tears and some soul-searching she had come to realize that the only remedy she and the children needed was the blood of ‘Yahshua’. The blood of ‘Yahshua’, or the blood of Jesus by whom many know him as what does that mean well many would say, it’s the foundation of redemption. However, for Patrice, it was the cure she and the children needed to find their way out of damnation.

She had tried everything, even like many others before her contemplated-on death, yes fear and suicide once sat beside her but she recalled her mother saying that pain it's only for a while it only defeats you when you lose all hope. Pain is not your enemy your greatest torture is yourself, you were born to be a conqueror so rise above your troubles and remember crisis is a friend. These words played over and over in her head, what does she mean by 'Crisis is a friend' to Patrice it made no sense. So, she sat for hours in the dark listening to the voices that played tricks in the calmness of the night in her battle she attempted to solve the mystery that was behind her mother’s statement 'crisis is a friend'.

During that night, she had recalled that her friend Jan had attending a seminar in North London and that a pastor by the name of ‘Myles Munroe’ had spoken about crisis being a friend eager to investigate and to learn more she goggled Myles Munroe and had discovered that crisis was indeed a man's friend and his explanation had made complete sense. 'Crisis is an event or circumstance or situation that impacts and influences our lives in which we have no control of, or are not the cause of nor responsible for', we are merely victims. At that moment Patrice had come to the realization that her and the children were victims of a circumstance in which they had no control of.

The more she pondered on the words of pastor Myles Munroe she grew to understand that her only hope laid in the hands of her saviour. Stephan may have pierced her heart but she was starting to believe that Christ her saviour was about to begin something new.

Psalms 73 vs. 26

"My flesh and my heart may fail but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
