Religion From A Giant-old Tradition

In one not so distant western place, there once existed one big island. This big island was migrated by a family of giants. Years passed and this one family grew into a clan of giants. More years later and all siblings are now raising their own families. And living a normal life, quarreling among men and women (parents, children and relatives) is not avoided and so most of them lived separately. Some families decided to stay in the biggest island of all islands while other families moved to neighboring islands in the north, east, west and south. Whenever there is a celebration in each family of giants, loud noises of revelry and voices coming from different islands are heard everywhere. And being giants that they are, livelihood like fishing and hunting are easy and planting crops and building houses are not so hard for them. Each time any of these families of giants living from different islands celebrate birthday, everybody is welcome to attend or pay a visit. Exchange of gifts, food and other stuffs from hunting and fishing is practised everywhere. One morning, one family decided to go fishing and sailed in the sea. Another family was already there before this family arrived. There was a misunderstanding who got there first. Until all members of the two families threw something at each other to spurn themselves. That was the beginning of a simple misunderstanding until all other families from other different islands were affected and got involved. Consequently, there's the separation of boundaries and isolation of islands and barter or exchange of free gifts was no longer allowed. When the two oldest living giants, who happened to be the grandparents of all families living in all different islands, learned about this matter they were frustrated. They wanted to unite all families but not everybody listened. One more time, these two elder-giants called for reconciliation. Each leader-parent giant from each island was represented. Everybody was gathered in the big island for consensus. An agreement was set and all families acceded. The time came when the two elder-giants died. Only the oldest living giant of the biggest island will now decide on all matters, even concerning the internal and external affairs of each island for their respective interests. Quarreling was avoided for many years and more years passed that no war was ever declared among any island dwellers. One day, a group of giants from nowhere arrived in the biggest island of all islands. This group of giants looked like vikings of later ages or titans of war because of their suits and beardy appearance. But they said they come in peace. They are hunters in the woods and mountains. They were lost when they sailed eastward that's why they reached their big western island. They were fed and comforted for a few days and left peacefully. After a few months, another group of giants arrived in the very same island. This group claimed that they are losing a family member that is why they sailed farther until they reached the said island. They were entertained and comforted for a few days. The group of visitors thanked the hosts and left the big island. A year passed, a new group of male giants arrived in the big island. A group of fortune hunters they said they are, but have no intention of bringing harm to anybody. Unknown to the leader of fortune hunters, there is one member of his group who is so cunning and dishonest. And this man-hunter robbed some possessions from the people of the big island and sailed away without informing the leader why he left. Fifty days passed and for fifty days the culprit was not found in the island even when all members of the hunters searched the whole island. The elder-leader giant of the big island was irate and wanted to wage war against the group of hunters because they lost something very sacred to them. The leader of the hunters offered a suggestion, a promise that their group will do everything they can to return what was lost in their island. The elder-leader stressed that the sacred item is part of their daily living because it is from their ancestors. The elder-leader agreed until the group of hunters left with a promise that they will come back with the missing item. Many months passed and the group of hunters has not returned. The elder-leader decided to look for the sacred item in neighboring islands until he reached the fiftieth island. His efforts together with his cohorts were futile and he was so disappointed. Everybody was distraught. The actual normal size and huge physique of the giants have shrinked in later years. They lost a lot of weight while looking, searching for the sacred item that they lost. More years passed and these giants lived weaker, smaller and shorter in size. Finally the time came when the elder-leader was so old. He said to all his family members and parent-leaders of all islands that they can decide for themselves in their own islands after his death. "Be good to yourselves and to everyone!" averred the elder-leader. "Stay very closed to each other as much as you can. You can have any belief or good faith which you believe is best for you and for your family." This is the start of the different religions (or none at all) in all states, islands and countries that we now have at the present time.
