Ice cubes and memories. A coffee story
I and my family used to live in a log cabin below my Aunt Virgies double wide. And I helped her by cutting her grass and taking care of her landscaping and what ever else that I could fix for her and I would go up to check on her and have a cup of coffee and visit.
When ever I sat down with her in the kitchen for coffee she would give me an ice cube to cool my coffee with and when it was cool enough I would take it out and toss the cube across the room into the sink which was about five feet away. Well one morning we were talking and I did my usual with the ice cube and tossed it in the sink. And quite by accident it landed just right and hit the top side of the inside of the sink and slid down and back up the other side and out of the sink and returned to my hand! We both looked at each other and had a good laugh about it. And now often when I am drinking coffee, like that ice cube that fun memory returns to me and I get to smile and think about some good things and get away from all the bad things that are currently happening for a while.
