A Sailor Moon

Moon is the only permanent satellite illuminating the planet Earth. It is not the Moon moving around Earth, rather it is the Earth encircling the Moon as the green planet moves. Names Diana, Luna, Cynthia, Selene as goddesses are associated with moon. Eclipse is another representation of moon. The syzygy or alignment of the Moon, the Sun and the Earth tells us that an eclipse is possible at any time. Lunar, occuring at full moon, is when Earth is between the Sun and the Moon; solar, when Moon is between Earth and Sun at new moon. Galileo and Babylonian, Indian, Chinese astrologers and even Greeks and known philosophers like Ptolemy have their own versions of the Moon, other than Sun. The moons of other bigger and smaller planets are distinct, far away from where the Moon is. The Moon that stays with Earth is one of its kind. The story of the Moon on this page is about a pledge of friendship and forbidden love. The Moon is female in character and she is the one being courted by many planets and other satellites. One night while the Moon is bathing, one planet was captured by the beauty of the Moon. And seeing the Moon as naked, this one planet stayed very close to the spot where the Moon usually takes her bath. Every time the Moon baths, the planet as an admirer paints her on canvass. After many times of painting a masterpiece, the planet offered all his works to the Moon as gifts. The Moon thanked the planet artist. The Moon being an adventurer, decided to visit other places where there is darkness. While traveling, she saw many stars around, but small in size. Then she saw bigger and smaller planets which she thought are just like her. She wondered why the planets are not as brilliant and as luminous as her. She rested for many days in the center of the many planets and observed them. One cold night, a red planet came forward asking for her friendship after asking her name. Immediately they became friends. The red planet left the next day. The following night, a blue planet saw the brightness of the Moon. The blue planet's heart was captured and asked the Moon if he can visit her again. The Moon said, "I am a stranger in this place. I only wanted to travel farther from my place that's why I got here." "When will I see you again... and where?" asked the blue planet. "You can easily see me where there is brightness. A little brighter than most stars around you." The blue planet left after thanking her, recognized as a new friend of the Moon. The following nights, more male planets arrived, greeting the Moon. Moon was overwhelmed for being recognized as charming and friendly, and she thanked them all for being so warm. The Moon decided to go back to her original spot. While traveling back, she's was accompanied by many other planets -- leaving their usual spots. The Moon remained in her most comforting location where she grew up and lived independently. Her usual position is best for her, seeing only a green planet called Earth and the Sun. Millions of years ago, the Moon was courted by the Sun. The Moon only accepted the Sun's friendship, but not love. They are forbidden by their parents. The Earth, the silent one, is the one that Moon loves. Earth didn't know it, but the Earth and the Moon are already friends for a long time. The Earth admires the Moon's brightness at night, pampered with lullabies whispered by the air at night. The Earth asked the Moon for her assistance in order to survive. The Moon promised Earth an everlasting friendship and much more. The Earth thanked the Sun and the Moon for bringing light to her sanctuary -- the Sun at day time and the Moon at night time. The Moon who once fell in love for the Sun will only be a memory for her. They were separated by time long before Earth was born and appeared in the universe. For each night while the Earth is groping in the dark, it is the Moon offering her love by illumination. For millions of years, the Moon expresses her undisclosed love for Earth by appearing in different shapes or forms. (The phases of Moon depend on the angle the Sun is hitting or facing the Moon. Another factor is the point of where you are on Earth looking at the moon.) This is the reason why the Moon appears in different nights in the form of a first-quarter, waxing crescent, new moon, wanning crescent, last quarter, wanning gibbous, full moon and waxxing gibbous... a Sailor Moon! It is against the law of the gods for a female to fall in love for another female.
