Nude, The Only True Color

I look at you, you look at me
Still neither of us really sees the other

Are we ever truly bare?
Would that simple blend be too much for us to share?

The rainbow; this flattering array
While a flamboyant display,
Camouflages you

Of my need to see you nude,
Do you think me crude?

It does make sense
This strategy of defense

Stay in the safety of your hue
By no means; don’t wear blue
Seek protection in the shade

Let’s differentiate the grade
Mix our three primary colors,
You, me and we

Then we reduce them to just you and me
Subtract again and minus you
Left is only me

OK. Now I see.

-Blake K Rohr

My inspiration: NaPoWriMo &
from “Do-rag” by Phillip B. Williams: O darling, the moon did not disrobe you. You fell asleep that way, nude.

A nice creative write from the lines on the bottom. I can see the mind calculating almost like working out a problem. A neat angle to this poem. love phyl
