By Laura Dee Battle
February 26, 2015

Sometimes we just burn
We burn alive
We burn inside
No profound reason why

It never starts
It never ends
It won't explain
So i give in

No beauty in this
No reason to miss
The pain is there
The other side of solitaire

This is the winter storm
This is the place where sinners mourn
My shiny things no longer glare
The emptiness has filled the air

The things I need are not for sale
Some days I feel so fucking frail
No silver lines to find today
I'll send the S.O.S. in May

Still bargaining for borrowed time
More mountains that I'll never climb
This is the hell in heavens light
The horror in the darkest night
