Into The Crowd

By Dee
November 22, 2015

Come spin me now, Mary-go-round
Make sure to hide those thoughts that you found
He came here to see this scary little story
But he found it too boring and burned it all for glory

Now her mind lays in the ashes of yesterdays forgotten sunset
She slips into that madness you have to die to forget
Get me off this twisted ride, she says behind two empty eyes
Ocean blue, her favorite shade, died that day among the lies

She's still holding on to the ghosts of her broken past
Trying not to fall to her friends made of tainted glass
They turned their backs when her screams became too loud
So she sinks to her knees and surrenders to the passing crowd

She wakes up alone, and everything still looks the same
Thinking of the truest words "i never conquered, rarely came"
She becomes he, and everything that's in between
The falling tears unseen reminding her She'll never be clean
