A Wakening
In life I, alone and
untroubled, sought
company and solace,
in equal proportions.
The more I found,
the greater the want.
Impetuosity replaced caution.
Mistakes were many,
successes so seldom.
The thrill of the game
became all important.
Rush headlong further
toward disappointment
Ignoring well intended advice
Now, intent faded,
resentment settles,
as a storm. I dream,
I recall friendly days,
and need my Love to keep me warm
