Moss

Dreams, they are what builds my bridges.
Pure love and togetherness,
That's all I could ever hope for.
He speaks of marriage with contempt,
With excitement and pleasure.
They say once we arrive at a certain age,
Our imagination runs dry.
Oh, how wrong they are!
As for women never outgrow it,
Their men are forever up to something.
I let mine roam free,
Decided to be my own enemy.
With time, that seed grew,
As did my enemy.
I've never once imagined,
It to leave me gasping for air,
Leaving me in an everlasting nightmare.
A conscience needing clarity,
A white picket fence now covered in moss.

Hello my dear Royal! Dreaming is one the most wonderful thing in life and I think as we age, it flows better. When we chose love and marriage, it's already a great fulfillment and kinks are spices, dreams go on for more excitement and fulfillment. I love your poem so much. Hugging it and you. Thanks a lot for sharing, sweetie. Hugs to you once again. Thanks a lot also for your kind visit on my poems. God bless you and your family! love lots so dearly, poet aunt: GL

I like how your poem turned out. I remember once upon a time, I had a dream, beautiful before the start, then came commitment. Boy it was all wrong, my fence was bruised before I even said "I do". I don't believe in fairy tales, however Prince Charming, is real. ;) be careful when a man paints over the layouts of your mind... hugs my beauty .. love You... Forever and ever. Poet Destroyer .

The dilemma of love and marriage and freedom of interpretation! You're left gasping for air, but better than just sitting on the fence! As for imagination, I can assure you that it gets better with ever increasing age! ~ Regards...enjoy the weekend:) // paul

I love the imagery Royal, maybe it was just the wrong picket fence. Great to see a post from you.
