Marvin Hart Poem
We fight a fight ,
a fight for a better way of living,
a fight to show us that in society we don't need material things to fit in
but at times our fight is in vein,
if we fighting against the oppressed mindset of materialism
then,what does it a profit man that loses his soul and gains the world??
if we Should die today, we leave everything that we worked for behind..
A fight to belong
a sense of comfort, to greet doesn't mean you like me
so why are there people who think they God and want to control us ,
our thoughts, our emotions ,our everything,
if we allow that to happen then our fight and what we stand
for is in vein,
our blood looks the same and flows the same ,
so what makes you better than me?
is it your colour, your money, your education?
none of that means anything if your lost your soul.
we have become so judgemental towards people who don't have anything
forgetting that once we also had nothing,
Asking the question 'if I have nothing would you be my Everything"?
a question that starts to take light
revealing its true nature day by day
no man should play God or make another human being feel inferior regardless of their background
we all have a story
a story starting with change
a story of how we fought to get where we are today as a country and as a people.
Gods people ,yet we treat our fellow brother and sister like ****
just because you have a nice house or car doesn't mean you better than me.
if I should win the Lottery today would that put me on your level?
we don't have the golden spoon nor do we get things on a platter
but every little bit of nothing that we have we hold onto
hoping and working hard to make it enough
enough to never doubt your worth or what you deserve
we all deserve the world of happiness and the sense of comfort
you are worthy ,worthy of everything your heart longs for and desires
its all possible in time,
in due time, but until then...
