A familiar time which plays on repeat in my mind
Get the opposite of high, but I don’t know why
Cutting pounds but not just my weight
I’m not trying to over-exaggerate
But I think it’s time to say goodbye.

Being alone isn’t the same as feeling it
I just wanna stop, I just wanna quit

They say all it takes is just a call
Down the rabbit hole you fall
Running down an empty hall
I cant seem to recall
If it’s really worth it all

Looking out the window, all
I hear is a loud rainfall
Beats me staring at a wall
Or downing pints of alcohol
Not afraid for if i fall
The flowers I’ll receive by haul
I’ll feel better overall
4:09:05 is my call

Villanelle: A Serious Matter

"A Serious Matter" is a free-verse-ish or "loose" villanelle.

A Serious Matter
by Michael R. Burch

Listen, love, it’s a serious matter:
I love you better despite the fetter.
I love you madder than any hatter.

Now even though you’re my chains’ begetter
and keep me your slave with that braless sweater,
I love you better despite the fetter.

You say you’re afraid that you’re getting “fatter,”
but your curves are my lust’s prime aider and abettor.
Listen, love, it’s a serious matter.

I love you madder than any hatter.

When you come to bed in sheer lace, my thoughts scatter:
first to the firmer, then to the latter.

I love you better despite the fetter.
I love you madder than any hatter.
Listen, love, it’s a serious matter!

Keywords/Tags: villanelle, love, love hurts, mad, madness, slave, slavery, lust, passion, desire, curves, lace, bed, chain, chains, fetter, fetters, ties that bind, mad hatter, madder than a hatter

Premium Member food allergies are serious

milk, eggs, shellfish
three common allergies
I know a family who lost a two-year-old son to milk

almonds, walnuts, peanuts, wheat and soybeans
five more common allergies
if you open a peanut butter jar, it can be deadly to some

my nemesis is hazelnut
after consuming, my throat closes up
I am wheezing and can barely breathe, needing my inhaler

English walnuts are a close second for me
after eating them, my mouth erupts into giant canker sores
all around my gums

something else creates hives in me.
We do not know if it is a food or what.
allergies seem to go hand-in-hand with having asthma

other symptoms of food allergies are
itching of the mouth, vomiting, and wheezing
Food allergies are serious; sometimes epi pens are necessary.

Don't Take Life Too Serious

Stand up,
Won’t lay down 'til I stack up.
Fed up with the brokenness
A liq just gonna tease me

Focus,
Pull up in a Lotus.
Fly on essential,
Throw up like bulimic
With you she a padlock,
With me she a secret.

Convenient,
Don’t take life too serious.
Articulate,
Went and took one
She missed on her period.

For my dogs, I’m ruthless,
Like John Wick, I leave you toothless.
Perseverance in the darkness,
Soon as the lights turn on
You ain't flawless.

Stock market lookin' exotic,
Potential in motion, perpetual.
In her walls like a schedule,
Might see you later
If this sh*t don’t get raided.

I'm faded.

Why Can't You Be Serious?

I Am Always Asked That;
And I Try To Think
Of An Honest Answer
All Of The Time.

I Am Serious.
I Am Too Serious.
I Am WAYYY TOO SERIOUS!

Thanks A Lot!

Premium Member Why Be Serious

What's the big deal
Why do we always have to be serious
Or well adjusted and stuff like that
That's no freaking fun

Why can't we run amok through the streets naked
Tossing flowers to bystanders
Bizarre as that may seem
Life is to be lived to the fullest and enjoyed

The kookier the outlook, the better
If you delve deep enough
You can find humour in almost every situation
However, you must be predisposed to it

To recognize it
In other words, you must be a bit twisted
My motto... “Why be serious!”
Ain't nothing wrong with being twisted

Premium Member PRESIDENT TRUMP - YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS PART 2

A penguin said to a grey seal
“ Trumps tariffs they cannot be real,
Cos there’s nowt here but poo
Turds pooped by me by you
He’s welcome to give THAT a feel”

Seal pondered then said, “That Trump guy
Is trouble, I’m not gonna lie
He may be the POTUS
But he’s hoodwinked all voters
To thinking that penguins can fly”

“Trumps tariffs are a real disgrace
Perhaps you should blast into space
Fly down to the White House
When you spot Trump the louse
Poop guano on his orange face”

Premium Member Serious Seamstress Sue

Her mother was a seamstress, her aunts and grandma too
She had grown up into it naturally, serious seamstress Sue.
Her house was full of fat quarters, there were pins on her floor
Tiny bits of embroidery floss followed all her clothes out the door

She liked quilting, she was an expert, a hand-stitching queen.
Did not allow anyone to say “hand-made” in any kind of mean.
Her jackets were quilted concoctions made of a variety of fabric pieces.
She made comforters and bags for her six daughters and three nieces.

Sue's expensive sewing machine was going twenty-four seven.
Can she take all of the things she made, when she goes up to heaven?
Sue did not worry about any of this, she sewed all day and night.
Wore her spools upon her head also, she was a truly crazy sight.

Premium Member I Finally Write a Serious Poem

I wrote a poem so darn serious
It seemed my readers went delirious
So I shortened her a bit
          Although I have to admit
I rather liked being Miss Tear E. Ous

I am serious
Don't make a fool
Of yourself
When you are talking to me
We are all
Brothers in heaven
Yes my Father
Made all of us
The earth is our
Temporally home

Premium Member Serious Night Dreams

   Serious night dreams,
   Have invaded my space.
   Annoying and scary,
Have to put back in place.
   Running away,
   Blood and guts,
   Repetitive dreams.
   Wakes me up,
   Startled in the dream.
   Not normal for me,
My dreams tend to be free.
   Relaxing and dissociative,
   Like a movie.
   Projected on my screen.
   Left over,
   From another night's dream.
   Can sit through it all,
   Perhaps popcorn.
While avoiding the serious night dreams.
