August Skies

If you look backwards in time you might see us It was August too many summers ago to recall long after midnight my brother and I slipping through the valley of sleep crawling out the window onto the roof of the old sun-porch drinking in excitement of the fresh night air sprawled on a coarse gravel bed searching the starry night and watching for the first time as the sky fell apart then waiting for the world to end

this is good....nice tale of chicken licken philosophy....accurate portrayal of childrens minds...your low placing in the contest is grossly incorrect.....you should be at least a dozen places higher up the list.....best wishes Syd

AWESOME way to look at the end of day . I would have enjoyed having a brother to do this with. I had all sisters and we just giggled all night in our beds! My grandkids got to see the barn swallows last night when they came over. they enjoyed it. I saw your tear poem did not make it into the winner list either. I do not understand that. Your entry was magnificent.

Only the second poem of yours that I've read and both are excellent! You've become a member in my favorite free verse writers club. I only have 5 writers of this genre in my select group: they're all women, and one is on this site. Her name is Raskin Bobbins, and you two brighten up this site immensely! I don't comment often, but when I do it's well deserved.
