Two From the Sibyl - By David Austin

POSEIDON Sleep, Lord Poseidon, Deep, everlasting sleep, While sailors watch with bated breath. Old planking creaks – The pitiable splintering sound – Old planking creaks. Old sailor, Splintery-kneed old sailor, Keeps his watch, With ever a thought of life’s futility, Down deep, Where dolphins stay. But Lord Poseidon never sleeps, And dolphins play….and play. HERMES Young wears the winged sandals, holds the winged staff. When old has cried, “Lost spring!” young laughs in the verdant bush, And will dance at wedding and wake alike.

hahaha, what you said about cats!! Daver, since having to give my cat away with her awful habit, I sure do miss her. If I lived nearby you, I'd love to see what kinds of cats you had! maybe I could get one but we still need to get rid of the carpet the old cat destroyed because I am afraid a new cat would pick up the scent and start abusing that basement floor as well!

Mythology that finds its place in the present. These old guys have been around forever, just needed you to give them a face lift and you did a great job; Love, Lizzie

Very nice, Daver. Love that part about dolphins still playing as Poseidon remains (but never sleeps). And the image of "young" laughing in the verdant bush!
