Tomorrow the Sun Shineth!

"...when power corrupts, poetry cleanses."
                     --John F. Kennedy

A frat asked, will you ever forgive her?
Come! The house has a toast for you tonight!
Now forget—this is not the way you were!
Let’s walk frat, tomorrow will be alright!

Let her go and have her own way each day;
Cleanse the taint with an aromatic bath
Let done be done forever—God molds the clay;
Come! Stand with us—let Him show you the path.

When entreated with her loveliest lies
Spread your wings to the sky with open ears;
Brittle vows and fragile oaths always die
Shallow days, months, years they too disappear.

Upon the rising sun—look to the East,
A royal feast, my frat—that’s the least!

That was indeed a very sound advice. Wonderful poem, some bitter realities are transformed so brilliantly in every stanza. The last two lines really leave the reader well aware and in a charming fashion. So let her be forgiven:).Love, Chitra

An awesome write displaying niceties of feelings -very educative. It reminds me a Quatrain from the book Rubai'yat of Josh Malihabadi written by Mohammad Yamin: I didn't sow in my heart the seed of spite. And never plunged my enemy into the terrible night. My anger raged only a short while. I made my peace before the dying of the night. Thanks also for your lovely comments on my poem "Love" -Fareeda
