The Parlor of Prometheus - Part One -

There I was, in His presence,
like a pebble in a pond, surrounded & submerged in Satan's spirit,
I was safe though,
safe as sin in a liar's heart,
no threat of abduction, no bargaining for soul,
intimidation felt more like explorative excitment,
curiosity carried my conscience to conception of privilege at this encounter,
here I was with an everlasting entity
in a room with marbles & wood furniture, art & artifacts from all around the world,
simplicity seen through dynamic forms of expression,
He told me that life is about...
Lending expression to meaning,
providing interpretation for travail, suffering & success;
being right when the world is wrong,
living as a song for lyrics of love...

To donate reverence to the Devil
does not mandate a deference for Her, or Him,
you need not agree with the philosophy He manifest
or condone how She employs Her talents,
I sat down fascinated by the caldroun of knowledge
that this immortal must possess,
experience so vast that oceans seem but just fountains of His villainous villa,
Time talking to itself,
how could anyone rationally meet with Lucifer and not be awed by His knowing,
His portfolio of personages,
a constellation of vice and virtue,
a beautiful flower whose scent may poison or please,
He looked at me with big eyes like He was happy to see an old friend,
I knew better than to touch Him,
He smiled as though He knew a valuable secret,
there we were already Brothers,
He asked me if I was glad to see the Sun this morning, I answered, " No",
" I prefer overcast skies" and Satan laughed lightly
saying that I would have enjoyed the " Battle of the Bulge",

Being anxious I enquired swiftly, not sure what to talk about,
" Do you like playing chess?", replying,
" Naturally, I invented the game a long time ago
in order to help a child king learn variables",
which child king was this, " The marvelous Alexander;
I appeared at his funeral as a Persian Princess,
placing a lotus on his chest.
I couldn't allow him to go further; the whole business was like infanticide",
as water turns to ice I found myself thinking about that statement for awhile,
then I decided I'd just interview this Legend,
He didn't seem to mind, He was beyond indictment,
far past sentencing,
why the need to eliminate Alexander,
" I was developing a unique form of ancestor worship in the Orient
which he would have jeapordized.
He made the planet more exciting for all of us",

Providence has allowed me through great discipline to share with the world this literature Karen, so I give without intent for financial gain - I have cultivated a small and special audience that has copywritten all of my compositions; royalties would be nice however - Steve has nothing on me, but I respect his talent and enlightenment - thanks for the beautiful and encouraging compliment Karen -
