No Flowers

There are no flowers there...
just flies, and dust and sun
Where a child wanders
over dirt under calloused feet
under a blazing sun
on a barren land

there are no flowers
there are no trees

where hunger is the only companion
where a pool of dirty water is a lonely playground
where life drains out and sickness plays the only game

where no birds sing...
where the only sound are tears of the innocent

where a child alone, lays down
where there are no flowers
only thorns
for his grave

A sad and heart wrenching piece..I think about all the women, men and children that are poverty stricken and it is the most painful feeling inside..Knowing that somewhere , someone is alone, not eating, someone is sick and dying, someone is homeless, someone is abandoned and forgotten. While others have so much..I look at my life and I thank God for what I have.It truly is a blessing and with what I have ,I try to help others when I can.You touched my heart in this one.Beautiful~ God Bless, Tyesha

Ahh! Two parts-two different presentations....both laced within conpassion and recognitions! One of sympathy and one of gratefullness! Realizing the countless plights around the world which suffer, underneath the broken confines of chance and circunstance~while others experience the joys and the pleasures that countless others shall never know! Such a compassionate and compelling write of recognitionm...cont....

It is very difficult to realize there are still so many children dying from poverty, hunger, sickness. It baffles the mind and hurts the heart that some have so much while other have nothing. A perfect entry for this contest. An excellent, thoughtful and disturbing write. Love, Shar

Death leaves a desert always behind it seems, but our memories are really gardens with a thousand blooms. Love
