Mother, Please Don't Let This Anger You

Believe in my theft
Admitting my lies,
But never the faith
You see in my eyes,
And never accept,
"Not ever again."
Your trust lies in hate
Not that, I'm your friend.
The room's now empty
Save ashtrays and chairs,
Some still living "down,"
While others "up," stairs.
Should have been kisses
And hugs from the start,
Not three empty chairs,
Wide open, apart.
Might be that turkey
Because I have lied.
Your only sorrow's
The cost to your pride.
Here's why I'm sorry,
Not what's in my head,
Should have hugged warmly,
No words needing said.
Please, won't you see that,
The rhymes, I adore,
And tell a good lie,
You want to see more.

I especially like the last three lines..Some do stretch the truth and some are outright lies..Enjoyed reading your creative work..Thanks for stopping by, reading, and commenting on my work..Sara
