Jack-O-Lantern

Buy a pumpkin, big and round; Choices at the stands abound. Pick one with a solid stem – You’ll know when you’ve found a gem. Cut a circle ‘round the top; Dig inside – remove the glop. Separate each slimy seed; Patience is what you will need. Rinse and dry this pumpkin treat; Spread them on a cookie sheet. Shake some salt and let them bake; Undersalting’s a mistake. Meanwhile, get your sharpest knife; Time for Jack to get a life. Carve a face with sneer or grin, Then you poke a candle in. Now your Jack-O-Lantern’s set; Admiration’s what you’ll get. While you’re feeling downright boasty, Munch some seeds, all nice and toasty. Some traditions never die; This one has a reason why: Every year at Halloween, Jack-O-Lanterns steal the scene!

I'm not much for halloween, except for all the candy. But you make carving pumpkins out to sound so fun and dandy. And when the kids come to the stoop to say their little speil. Jack's warm glow will let them know that this is the real deal.

oh my goodness. so glad I am here on this one right now. guess what? today our students carved pumpkins. there must have been about 15 to 20 pumpkins and I went around collecting all their seeds and later I will clean and cook them. just as described here. Have you tried garlic salt and seasoned salt ones. And parmesan for the garlic ones. And butter OR oil? It's so fun to experiment. These seeds are full of protein and good for us but everyone is throwing them away. Pitiful. PUmpkin time NOW!!

Happy Halloween! I remember tag day where we raised money for Israel as we trick or treated. Peace and Love Matthew Anish
