Missing You

I’ll always think of you now I’m wild in the country, you know I’m just a poor boy from Memphis Tennessee, lonely without a lover doll, trying to patch it up, this life! Paralyzed I am, yet please tell me why, when one night with you in the ghetto, my blue moon turns to gold. I know! It’s the wonder of you not only your blue suede shoes but your burning love, that gives no time to reconsider baby. Hope! You’ll always wear my ring, I’m sure you know I’m playing for keeps, so baby let’s play house no one sided love affair here, You’re young and beautiful and that’s alright when the next step is love, especially without suspicious minds. No Heartbreak Hotel! For us just a promise of “Love me tender” Whilst “I’m loving you” © Harry J Horsman 1999

I cannot hear an Elvis song, without a companioned memory of some significant time in my life.. Such an impact, music can have on our youth, and emotions. Yes...we miss them!!

No one out did the king. Roy Orbison was my favorite singer, Elvis my favorite performer.

about my Legs poem, I was trying to think of a body part that was always very good for me. My crowning glory, hair, has always given me too many problems. haha

Hey, Harry, was this some challenge where you had to incorporate a number of song title lines into a poem? If so, you did an incredible job!! WEll, I am not caught up but I feel so tired, I am just dying to get off here. Do you ever feel that way? Like your eyes cannot stay open any longer? The night is still so young. But I think I am the one ZONKED out today!!!

Those titles and lines brought back memories of days of yore..Like one for the money two for the show four to ready and go cat go...We listened to and sang songs that taught morals and valuse back then didn't we....Haaaaa! Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my work.Sara

Really enjoyed reading your tribute to Elvis, Harry. I've been to the museum in Friedberg, Hesse, Germany where Elvis once was stationed and they gota number of exhibits from Elvis displayed there. And thank you for your kind comments. Have a nice Sunday!...Gert
