Closer Than a Brother
I've been a lot of places
I've seen a lot of faces
I've parted bread with many
And said my graces
But had it not been for you, my friend
I would not have known life and
What beauty in it abides
You've comforted me when I was down
You've listen without a sound
I could never repay your kindness
To my faults complete blindness
You've always been at arms length
In you, I've found new strength
Caring, sharing, never judgmental
You wiped my tears With hands ever
so gentle
You've elevated me to new heights
Through you, my friend I've seen brighter skies
There clings a friend closer than a brother
Like you, I know God has not made another
