Addiction

Her life is clinging to unrealistic thoughts She has settled for pebbles and stones Gold glitters before her, but unseen Precious parts taken away, left behind Slowly being swallowed up, shipwreck imminent

Thanks for the comment. Wrote this poem in a few minutes as an assignment for a poetry class at our local library. Sometimes the words come quite quickly. Poem written about a friend who was at the time slipping deeper into her addiction. Since then she has made a change in direction and is in recovery. Amazing Grace. Thanks again, Allen
