A Goddess

through the ether
she appeared

A Goddess
attended by herons
the softest light pours
from her eyes
flamed by the embers
of her heart

loving without knowing
caring without seeing
a voice for those
without freedom,
the answering cry
from the dark,
nobody else hears

cresting Great Rivers,
Buck-eyed Demigods
genuflect at her feet

she is worshiped
this Brilliant Goddess

and today
is her Birthday

Another alter ego for the legendary Leda? May she read this poem and enjoy her birthday, it is a tribute that makes us feel the heart from which it came. One love

this is wonderful, I see this Goddess vividly through your imagery. Chose this poem randomly from all those you wrote, and am glad I did! Thank you Jayne for your lovely comment on "Coaxing a write", much appreciated. Coaxing a write is what I was attempting to do with that etheree...anything to get jumpstarted again:)

Jayne, a wonderful poem, i feel the peace, in her hearts quietness, and her vibrant power that gives her mortality with the essence to be any bodies goddess. Enjoyed the birth-day dedication. Have a nice one,..p.d.
