Unable to even gather his thoughts Time had stolen those memories he held dear Though he seeks them, in vain they are sought Everything has become blurred, unclear As images of twilight draw near Suddenly a smile lights up his face As an image flashes through his mind It is this fleeting image he tries to embrace Before it slips away and is confined To shades of twilight, undefined ---

This is so sad, and unfortunately very real....so many lose this precious gift of memory, and it is too fragile and precious to lose...what an emotional piece you have penned. Congratulations!

It's always despairing to have one's memory slip... mine tends to at times as I age... watched my grandparents and parents go through this also in their later years. You have gave voice to these occurrences and showed also the joy of remembrances that are so fleeting in the winter of years. Well done !.
