History-Making Victory

She was agonizingly close To winning the race when Things started going haywire They really played games on her Some said her game was up Many had written her off Others said she was history But they had to swallow their Spoken-too soon convictions She turned the tables on Those sticky things and at the End hers was not only history But also a simple sweet victory

She triumphed in the end as you point out in this work. I like this poem a lot but feel the last two lines might be reversed. Peace & Blessings Matthew Anish

Oh, I was thinking the same as Debs down here. wondering who it was about. I see it was just imagination. I do that a lot too, Ndaba.

Andrea, l wrote it with a clear conscience , it only dawned on me that some poet friends could be relating it to a certain incident here when l was analysing the responses(or even lack of them, as some preferred to comment on my earlier posts than the poem at the top!) to its publication on this site. AnYy resemblance of any person or incident is purely coincidental. Thanks, to all who have made their curiosities known to me, otherwise l was going to remain in the dark about what`s going on here!

Honestly, l am not writing about a particular person here or elsewhere. This piece is nothing but a figment of my imagination. Hope the explanation will suffice?
