Heaven Waits
Waiting is the hardest thing to do. Impatiently in our desire we wait to set the world on fire. We run and jump when we are young with energy to burn and it's so hard to wait your turn. But as we grow we start to slow and quickly begin to learn we still must wait our turn. Waiting, waiting on time to pass. Watching, watching the hourglass. When will it be my turn to dance and when will it be my turn to take a chance? Finally, you're out of school and you imagine all the possibilities that life can bring to be. The world is yours to see and you tell yourself, "I'm free!" You're walking tall and proud with a briefcase in one hand and a wallet in the other. Now you're glad you listened to your father and your mother. But the water is deep and filled with sharks and for your blood they thirst. Sometimes you won't come in first. Sometimes you'll learn the hard way what life is all about. The truth is you'll work long and hard until your hair is falling out. It's time to take your medicine and you're waiting for your check. You're waiting for your kids to call and it's your turn to cut the deck. We never stop waiting for something, it's true, but the question is: "How long will heaven wait on you?"
